Target Information
Target Name EGFR
Gene Abbr. EGFR
Gene ID 1956
Full Name epidermal growth factor receptor
Alias ERBB, ERBB1, HER1, NISBD2, PIG61
Introduction The epidermal growth factor (EGF) receptor is a 170 kDa transmembrane tyrosine kinase that belongs to the HER/ErbB protein family. Research studies have shown that somatic mutations in the tyrosine kinase domain of EGF receptor (EGFR) are present in a subset of lung adenocarinomas that respond to EGFR inhibitors, such as gefinitib and erlotinib. Two types of mutations account for approximately 90% of mutated cases: a specific point mutation, L858R, that occurs in exon 21 and short in-frame deletions in exon 19. The most frequent exon 19 deletion is E746-A750, accounting for 90% of lesions at this site, although some rare variants occur.
Product Details
Host Rabbit
Clonality Monoclonal
Clone No. D2F1
Immunogen Synthetic phosphopeptide corresponding to residues surrounding Thr693 of human EGFR protein.
Source/Purification Antibody is produced by immunizing animals with a synthetic phosphopeptide corresponding to residues surrounding Thr693 of human EGFR protein.
Usage
Application WB, IP
Dilutions Western Blot (1:1000); Immunoprecipitation (1:200)
MW(KDa) 175
Reactivity Human
Sensitivity Endogenous
Specificity It detects endogenous levels of EGFR protein only when phosphorylated at Thr669. While the literature refers to this residue as Thr669, it is Thr693 of human EGFR (UniProt sequence P00533) and corresponds to Thr695 of mouse EGFR or Thr694 of rat EGFR.
Storage & Handling
Storage Buffer Supplied in 10 mM sodium HEPES (pH 7.5), 150 mM NaCl, 100 µg/mL BSA, 50% glycerol and less than 0.02% sodium azide.
Preservative Less than 0.02% Sodium Azide
Storage Temp. Store at -20 °C.
Handling Do not aliquot the antibody.
