Target Information
Target Name Actin
Gene Abbr. ACTA1
Gene ID 58
Full Name actin alpha 1, skeletal muscle
Alias ACTA, ASMA, CFTD, CFTD1, CFTDM
Introduction Actins are highly conserved proteins that are involved in various types of cell motility, and maintenance of the cytoskeleton. In vertebrates, three main groups of actin isoforms, alpha, beta and gamma have been identified. The alpha actins are found in muscle tissues and are a major constituent of the contractile apparatus. The beta and gamma actins co-exist in most cell types as components of the cytoskeleton, and as mediators of internal cell motility.
Product Details
Host Mouse

Clone No. 647
Isotype IgM
Immunogen The antibody reacts with the Actin antigen.
Usage
Application WB, IHC
Dilutions Immunohistochemistry (1:10-1:500)
MW(KDa) 42
Reactivity Rat
Specificity In addition to the intermediate filaments, the cytoskeleton contains contractile micro filaments. These proteins occur in most cell types, but more abundantly in muscle cells and myoepithelial cells. There are three types of contractile proteins: actin, myosin and tubuli. This antibody reacts in immunoblots with one single protein band which is corre?sponding to actin. Antigen origin: cell preparation of chicken skeletal muscle. Antigen location: cytoplasm.
