Description

V-ATPase subunit VHA-a3 This protein is an important component of the vacuolar proton pump (V-ATPase), a polymerase that catalyzes the transmembrane transport of protons and is required for the assembly and activity of V-ATPase. Involved in the storage of vacuole nutrients (e.g. accumulation and storage of nitrates) and tolerance to certain toxic ions (e.g. isolation of zinc ions in vacuoles). Aliases: V-type proton ATPase 95 kDa subunit a isomer 3, V-ATPase 95 kDa isomer a3, vacuolar H(+)-ATPase subunit a isomer 3, vacuolar proton pump subunit a3, vacuolar proton translocation ATPase 95 kDa subunit a isomer 3.
