Description

PsaF (PSI-F) is a conserved subunit of Photosystem I (PSI). PSI is a complete membrane polyprotein complex that catalyzes the transfer of electrons from plastocyanin (or cytochrome c6) to ferredoxin (or xanthodoxin). PsaF has been shown to be related to the orientation of soluble electron donors. In plants, PSI-F is nucleologically encoded and is translated into the chloroplast and inserted into the thylakoid membrane.
