Affinity purified Lotus Tetragonal Lectin (LTL) is isolated from lotus seed and consists of 240 amino acid residues.LTL is a glycoprotein consisting of four subunits. The lectin has pH 7.3, 7.6, 7.9, and 8.2 isoelectric points, is carbohydrate specific for L-type lectins, and is most inhibited by L-type lectins.LTL is a focus-binding anti-h (O) lectin. Human bladder migratory cell carcinoma has a tendency to metastasize when it strongly expresses the LTL binding site.
