Substrate preference is desulfo-benzyl glucosinolate > desulfo-6-methylthiohexyl glucosinolate. Increased specific activity with increasing chain length of desulfo-glucosinolate derived from methionine. Preferred substrate is desulfo-8-methylthiooctyl glucosinolate.
