Description

cytb6/f multisubunit complex is an important component of photosynthetic electron transport chain in higher plants, green algae and cyanobacteria. This complex catalyzes the oxidation of quinoline and the reduction of plastocyanin. This reaction allows the establishment of the proton force required for ATP synthesis. Four main subunits construct the complex: the petA gene product corresponding to cytochrome c (cytf), and the PETA gene product corresponding to type b /c Cytochrome Type I has three hemoglobin (cyt b6), petD gene product (subunit IV, or suIV), and petC gene product, corresponding to Rieske/ iron/sulfur protein.
