Encodes a Bet1/Sft1-like SNARE protein, which can only partially suppresses the temperature-sensitive growth defect in sft1-1 yeast cells; however, it cannot support the deletion of the yeast BET1 gene (bet1Delta). In yeast, Bet1p is the v-SNARE (soluble N-ethylmaleimide-sensitive factor adaptor protein receptor, V-type) involved in trafficking between the ER and Golgi.
