Description

L-ascorbate oxidase, which has oxidoreductase activity, belongs to the polycopper oxidase family and is an extracellular enzyme involved in plant ascorbate metabolism. Ascorbic acid (AA) plays a key role in the resistance to oxidative stress and is especially abundant in photosynthetic tissues. More than 90% of ascorbate is localized in the cytoplasm, but a considerable proportion is exported to the exosomes. Alternative names :(ASO) (Ascorbase) (EC 1.10.3.3), AAO
